I always thought ex-Met Jose Offerman was wound a little too tight, but I never thought he’d take a bat to another player, let alone two.

Tommy John, the manager of Bridgeport team whose players Offerman attacked, said the pitch was a cut fastball, which is not the type of pitch used to knock down or hit a player.
He’s been suspended indefinitely, but is that enough? Does anybody remember his days with the Mets and any incidents that could lead you to believe he’d lose it like that?
