Glad to see Milledge in there .. finally. Willie said something about him earning it, so did Keith. Maybe this means more Lastings.

About the Beltran, David flip. The announcers were saying Wright is getting on base a lot and putting Beltran b4 Carlos will allow him to see more fastballs since he has problems with the soft stuff.

I'm glad they got Milledge in there. I think I would bat Beltran 6th because Alou and Delgado seem to be in a nice groove lately. Willie probably knows Beltran would pout for a week and can't bat him that low.

Overall thats as solid a top seven batters as we've seen all year. Hopefully they can put together a nice offensive series in Pittsburgh, looks like Duque will need it tonight.

sorry, I had read espn's article, I just saw on mlb that he was holding back a little and throwing mid 80's, he'll be fine

anyone know how high pedro got his fastball today? -just to avoid jokes, I'm asking MPH, not zone location. I don't expect him to let it fly 100% until he reaches the majors, but upper 80's is encouraging...anyone know?

I don't like the way they use the day-to-day list. I wish they would just give the guy a 15 day DL even if that means he gets a few extra days off and fill his spot on the roster so there not playing short and he doesnt try to rush back.
This is in reference to Castro, sit him for two weeks let him get full strength before Sept., bring up Alomar.

But ealier they did the same thing with Alou, beltran, Green, Lo Duca and Schoeneweis.

Blastings, Castillo is the perfect two hole hitter because he takes pitches for Reyes and rarely strikes out.

I like it!

WFAN's website has an interesting poll up right now - *Who would you want to see at catcher for the Mets in 2008?* I picked Jorge Posada, but the problem is his cost of over $10 million. If the Mets don't retain Alou or sign him for lower, that could be a possibility. But I don't think the Yankees will let Jorge get away. I just can't believe Alomar and DiFelice weren't included. ;-P I guess the others on that list, Pudge, B. Molina, Piazza, Castro, Lo Duca, are all free agents; I know the latter three are. It could be like 2006 all over again, trying to sign Molina.

Like the outfield.

Willie's obviously pressing there to get both Wright and Beltrán at the top of the lineup. Solution? Drop Castillo to 7th!

Oh, I forgot, he's a perfect 2-hole guy. Right...

Interesting. What's this, the 83rd different lineup this year?

All kidding aside, few thoughts: Most notably, why the Wright/Beltran switch? I mean Wright has definitely hot as of late, but Willie doesn't like to tinker unless he really feels something needs to be done. Glad that Wright will have more AB's, though it will also invariably mean more K's. Also, what's the word there on Castro? Available to pinch-hit? Marlon back yet? And finally, please let this be the outfield we see most of the rest of the year.

Loved the Sunday article! I'm glad I could "contribute."
