On your Perez-Nady question, you weren't specific enough. My answer is "No way" if I'm the Pirates and "Hell Yes" if I'm the Mets.

So, from whose perspective are you asking the question?

I missed Cohen's comment. But I made a post about this the other day. I read an article from the Baltimore Sun quoting the Norfolk owners and they were not happy that so many washed up veterans had appeared at Norfolk the last few years. I know I wouldn't want to pay good money to watch players like Offerman, Ledee, Gerald Williams, Lima, and DiFelice. A few of these players are OK but not when there are so many of them on the roster.

That's what Gary was saying on the broadcast last night, that Norfolk wasn't keen to remain affiliated with the Mets because they brought in old players that didn't excite the fans and bring in a consistent crowd.

Offerman was at New Orleans most of the year. I guess they let him go. Glad they did. They should stop filling AAA with so many washed up veterans like him. Move the kids up.

JD:Maybe Willie gives you these "gut feel" lines because there's no way to repond to them If Feliciano is hurting only a bad manager would make it public. I know you all don't like him but he isn't stupid.

Alomar did a lousy job coaching at third. He gave DeFelice the stop sign so early that there was no way for him to score when he changed to a go sign. I was sitting right there and it was so obvious.

El Duque was horrible all night. Thankfully he picked the Pirates to stink against.

How is the view from the roof JD?? Did you get a Ralph Kiner coin? It was Kiner "Pirate Hall of Fame" tribute night for those in NYC.

It seems like the lack of quality catching in the minors is a universal thing. No offense to DiFelice or Alomar, but you'd have to assume there would have to be better options out there in such a situation...

OH yeah, what about that "transfer" call by Fairchild? I guess there's a reason he is a vacation fill-in ump. That ball was never in Wilson's glove, nor was Wilson at second base when the ball came to him. Wright was safe all the way. Luckil, Mets won or that would be a much bigger story.

The Braves were in the sixth, so not too late. The Red Sox were really late though, not that it matters to us. The Cubs got close, too.

Good to see Alou silencing the haters, along with Willie playing Milledge in right; somehow I don't think he will be there tomorrow.

...and holy cow! Three late-inning come-from-behind wins in one night!--The Mets, Phils and Braves all came from behind to win their respective games on Tuesday nite! That's two too many.

To BH: There's no doubt Milledge saved Willie there. I thought it was interesting to see how Milledge answered questions about the ball Phelps hit. He just flat out said he misjudged the ball. I'm heading back to the hotel.

I'll be anxious to see what you guys post overnight.-JD

Willie says Feliciano is available, but I don't think I have even seen him even warming up in the last four games. Something's gotta be up, whether he is tired or hurt or Willie just wants to give him time off. Maybe he is pitching Sosa to see what he has, knowing that Heilman and Feliciano will be more important in September and October.

Willie was all of about 5 feet from being very very very wrong about Schoenweis. He does not get credit for that call despite the result.

Just came up from the clubhouse. Pedro Feliciano was available. Willie went with Scott Schoeneweis because, ``I felt he could get the guy out.''

-Milledge said he broke back too fast. ``I didn't have to dive for it if I took the correct route,'' he said.

-Moises Alou said he was looking fastball from Shawn Chacon.

-Orlando Hernandez threw 130 pitches. But The Jacket said he's still on for Sunday.

John does Willie want the Mets to lose?

Heilman ready but instead he pitches Sosa for 2 innings again.. it's only a matter of time before Sosa's arm gets tired he's not used to pitching every day or 2 innings every other day..

Seriously sometimes I think he wants the Mets to lose..
