Now John, I know you have some rough nights out with the Mets after the games, but come on, you forgot a centerfielder!
Only 8 batters in the lineup tonite? Is that allowed?
Let me get this straight…we can’t beat Buddy Carlyle with 9 in the lineup but now Willie is getting cocky and going with just 8 tonight against Smoltzie?
He must have had that feeling in his gut again!
I guess Willie was trying to find a way to bat Millege lower in the lineup and decided to take him out completely. I’m sure that with Green and Alou in the OF we won’t even miss the CF.
Now batting 8th for the New York Mets, the center fielder, Chad Hermansen.
Just kidding. I hope.
Marlon couldn’t go tonight, so rather than play Milledge, Willie just decided to go with eight players. Seriously, though, Lastings is hitting eighth and playing center.
When, oh, when, will he get to hit 6th? I know 2nd is Castillo’s now, b/c of that double-leadoff hitter hokey nonsense, but Green? The guy is barely OBPing over .300. He stinks.
It’s all good though.
i want a centerfielder!! green and alou have enough trouble coverin their own position.
ALou prediction 0-4 4 dp’s 89 lob
NYM, I really don’t see how Alou can leave more than 15 men on base.
NYM – i dont know what games you have watched. Lastings has done an admirable job in center. he made one bone head play. the rest of his play has been well.
Green has been holding up his end. The only person we cannot count on is Alou. we were better off with Anderson ..
or better yet. is Endy healthy yet?!
mr.bmc-alou has powers we dont know
steve- it wasnt a knock on lastings i love milledge. its that theres no CF in johns lineup.
Alou made a great catch in Leftfield….complain, complain, complain….
Jeff, seriously, does a great play in LF make up for having the worst BA with RISP on the team or being a double play machine?
Chill out folks Alou just came back after an extended injury, he will start to hit like he did earlier this year.
You guys sound like yankee fans who expect hits every time.
No I don’t expect hits every time. But the fact is he was a double play machine and had a terrible batting average with RISP before he went on the DL. This is not new. So in terms of situational hitting, I hope he doesn’t hit like he did earlier this year. Because the team will be in trouble if he does.
