<img align=”left” img src=”http://mets.lohudblogs.com/files/2007/08/lo-duca-paul.thumbnail.jpg” alt=”lo-duca-paul.jpg” /> Manager Willie Randolph is now saying Tuesday for “Paul Lo Duca.”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6032
“That’s to re-evaluate him,” Randolph said. “That doesn’t mean he’ll play.”
Lo Duca’s status surfaced as interest today because of Tom Glavine’s second start for 300 tomorrow night. Lo Duca wants to play, but Randolph said, “he’s not close to the 100 percent I want him to be.”
Randolph said there’s two months left to the season and he doesn’t want to risk Lo Duca blowing out his hamstring and missing another month or more.
As far as Randolph is concerned, catching Glavine is not an issue. “I appreciate him wanting to play,” he said. “But, I’m the manager. I have to be smart enough not to react to the will of the player.”
