Good start by the ballclub, two in the first. Brian Lawrence gets out of the first stranding a runner on second.
A line-up note: Lastings Milledge is in center and Damion Easley in right. Shawn Green the day off against left Chris Capuano.
NOTEBOOK
-Mike DiFelice was designated for assignment.
-Maybe this weekend for Paul Lo Duca, maybe not. He’s running and hitting, but he won’t say when he’ll play.
-Pedro Martinez worked 5 1/3 innings in a simulated game this morning. He gave up two runs on four hits and threw 67 pitches. The next step is a rehab game on Tuesday.
-Maybe the end of next week for Carlos Beltran.

Who are these outfielders?!

I think Willie is reading this blog – I said I wanted Lastings in CF until Beltran returns, but that Willie could do as he wished with LF and RF. :)
I listen to all the Mets games on WFAN – I think their radio team is wonderful, they describe everything – everything – and put you right in the ballpark.
(I’ve been to some of the ballparks, but not all – on the other hand I’ve been to 23 racetracks, but that’s another story.)
3 runs in 5 innings isn’t too bad from Lawrence; I didn’t expect much more than that…also nice (and very surprising) to see Easley with the inside-the-park homer.
Who is that outfielder who is so fast he can get an inside the park homer? Gomez? Chazez? Beltran? Milledge? No its the flying Easley!!!!!!!!!
