"An entire third of a season of 1-4 with a single from Castillo, huh? Feh. Feh and blah."

He's not doing that well; it's 1-5. Twice now. With 5 LOB in the 2 games. But who's counting?

I will say this, last night was the most consistent Mota's change has been all year, even in his better outings before this it was inconcsistent, last night it was down and dropping almost everytime. If you recall, that's what made him a success last year. I'm hoping this is a sign of what's to come.

I kind of hope something happened that the Mets felt a need to discipline Lastings. But to think nothing came out is hard to believe. Did anyone talk to the player after the game? Other than that Willie's statement just doesn't make sense, especially when he has the hunch to bat lefty Green 8th against a crappy righty. Green's performance on D and O has warranted less playing time than David Newhan.

Just had a crazy idea.... Johnny Damon doesn't seem to have a clearly defined role on the Yankees right now. Wonder what he'd look like in our outfield. I know he has no arm, but he can still play a decent CF, can't he? He seems to be having an off year offensively, but you still gotta like his bat. Knowing Willie's preference for playing the older guys though, Damon would only take playing time away from Lastings. If only we could eliminate Shawn Green from the equation--or make him a bench player.

The problem with Mota is that he has had more than one good outing, he just sandwiches some real stinkers inbetween every one or two good ones.

Ain't nothing wrong with getting Anderson a few starts while Beltran is down.

But playing him in centre is madness and playing him over Milledge is double-madness.

Mota's gonna need more than one good outing for me to have any faith in the guy.

An entire third of a season of 1-4 with a single from Castillo, huh? Feh. Feh and blah.
