-Moises Alou is back. After getting over the shock of seeing him out there you realize this isn’t a great outfield.
-Jorge Sosa is on the skids. I’m thinking he’s not long for this rotation. He’s the one to move to the pen when Pedro Martinez comes back, but don’t be surprised if the move is made before.
-As far as second base goes, keep going with Ruben Gotay until he can’t do it anymore.

To Jeff, from a few posts back – I totally agree with you about Willie. I have never liked his in-game managing. When he has a difficult decision to make, he never seems to make the smart move. I have seen some really good choices this year, so he is improving, but it is still elss than half in my eyes, and this is not just in hindsight. I especially don’t like it when he brings Wagner into a game he’s not ready for, such as those nasty four-run leads.
But today, I thought it was smart not to use Sele because of the doubleheader. Especially if they’re sending down Adkins to make room, which I can’t understand, unless Pelfrey or Sosa is moving to the bullpen, but it shortens the pen for a couple games. Why can’t they just send down Hernandez?
On the game.. I really don’t mind the loss.. the boxscore might say 2 runs but the mets hit some deep fly outs, and rockets right at people.. the offense is still awake no worries..
Hey this is off topic but it needs to be adressed.. SNY is making enough money that we should be able to see highlights of the minor league games everyday..
I mean i dont wanna wait 3 weeks to find out philip humber had a dead arm and is overthrowing..
I wanna know if Bobby Parnell is learning a new pitch to put him over the top..
I wanna see Deoils Guerra in live action..
Is it to hard for SNY to put a camera for A+ AA AAA and inform us whats going on with these prospects that some of us follow deeply?
Every day should have highlights of the day before game in the minors..
we need to get a better look at these guys that are sopposed to be our future and SNY isn’t doing anything
He hit the ball well a couple of times. Heck, he even dove for a ball out of his reach and nearly came up with it. Is he back for good? I hope so. I hope he’s not just teasing us again, because the Mets could sure use his bat right about now. Even tho the Mets dropped the opener to the Nats, it’s always good to see Carlos Delgado go 2 for 4 and play like he did last night. Oh, and it’s good to see Alou back, too!
What’s up with Sosa? Even Nats announcer [our very own] Ray Knight and his booth partner were commenting on his wandering pitches and his slider having a mind of its own. About 2B: I agree they should leave Easley on the bench and put Gotay in there for the duration. Easley’s bat has pop and could be a fearsome pinch hitter and as he has shown, he is a long ball threat.
danny: re: minors
I think they make an effort not to overhype prospects and also not to show them to the league too early. There is a nice element of surprise, especially with a top pitching prospect.
Both Guerra and Mulvey were in the Futures game this year, so there was the chance for everyone to check them out. Albiet in a small sample.
I believe scouts think Parnell is progressing well, and Guerra was named a top pitching prospect in the mid season report despite his poor base numbers. He’s way ahead (level wise) for someone his age and should eventually catch up to the level of competition the Mets keep challenging him with.
Hype
The hype will come, but I agree with Danny, a regular minor league report would be nice to see how things are coming along. MSG used to do that before the owners gutted the network.
