“Pedro Martinez”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=4875 threw a 65-pitch simulated game today in Port St. Lucie, Fla. “It went very well,’’ GM Omar Minaya said. “The results are very encouraging.’’
The Mets will wait a couple of days to see how Martinez feels before taking the next step. It could be another simulated game or a rehab start.
NOTEBOOK
-Moises Alou is in the line-up tonight. The Mets will make a roster move after BP to clear the spot. Guessing either Sandy Alomar or Anderson Hernandez.
-Jon Adkins was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans.
-Orlando Hernandez will start the first game tomorrow. No announcement on the Game 2 starter, but bet on Mike Pelfrey.
-Nothing new with Carlos Beltran.

John – any chance whatsoever that Humber gets a shot? When did he last pitch for the Zephyrs?
gentry: Humber last pitched on the 22nd, when both Pelfrey and he shared a double header. I read somewhere that he had food poisoning and missed his last start (last night?) but with the constant reshuffling of the AAA rotation (they have 6-7 starters) I have no idea when his start is/was supposed to be.
btw, at night El Duque is 5-3 with a 2.54 ERA, .193 BA allowed, 1.04 WHIP, while during the day he is 1-1 with a 5.09 ERA, .233 BA allowed, and a 1.39 WHIP.
why is Willie not starting him in the night game?
