Mets in the Afternoon

At the park early working on a few special projects. One of which is Tom Glavine. Disappointment today. Heather Locklear turned me down. She and Glavine did a commerical together a long time ago. “Chicks Dig the Longball.’’ I thought it would be a good idea to get her thoughts on it. She didn’t.
Anyway, here’s what’s going on with your team so far:
-Moises Alou? Heads yes, tails no? Like I said, I’ll believe it when I see it.
-Not expecting Carlos Beltran back. Lastings Milledge has been great since coming up.
-Somebody should come up to replace Joe Smith.
-Mike Pelfrey will get one of the doubleheader games tomorrow. I’m thinking it might not be a bad idea to put Pelfrey in the rotation and stick Jorge Sosa in the bullpen.

John,
The title of this article should have been “Heather Locklear Turned Me Down.” Marketing, man, marketing!
John – isn’t it ironic that when Glavine wins 300, he will be in a Mets uniform, but when he goes into the HOF, he’ll be a Brave again? Sort of like Seaver who won his 300 as a White Sox, but is a Met in the HOF. Yes?
Thanks for the inspiration. Tracked down the commercial on Youtube and posted it at my site. Highest of high comedy.
Or perhaps Heather in the afternoon. or Chicks dig the long ball.
Alou – tails
Carlos hopefully soonish.
Lastings has been great.
Smith needs a break.
Sosa over Pelf.
Join the club, I too have been turned down by Heather Locklear…
Will Beltran go on the DL if Alou is activated today? Also, will A-Hern be sent down to make room for Pelfrey? Maybe Pelfrey will take Smith’s spot in the bullpen after this start.
If he can’t play today or tomorrow….time to DFA him?
John whats the word on CHAVEZ?
Didnt they call up Jon Atkins for Joe?
I want Jorge over Pelfrey still… for now.
As much as Sosa’s been struggling and as much potential as Pelfrey has, I think he’s probably still a little ways away from being “ready” to be in the rotation long-term.
If one of them shows me differently in the near-future, though, I might turn around on that.
As for the moves… I think a lot of it depends on whether they think they’ll get Alou back before or after Pelfrey’s start.
If Alou isn’t gonna be in the lineup on Saturday, it allows you to sorta hold off on dunking A-Hern or maybe Alomar and then figure out the whole mess after Sunday’s game.
i wanted Pelfrey to work out. But it seems like Maine had and always did have more confidence than Pel.
who knows maybe he will get settled in…
Adkins is on the active roster, yes.
Roger, I meant after Pelfrey is recalled, then he could stay in the bullpen, with Adkins going back to the minors a few days after Pelfrey starts.
hey spiderpig. a simpsons fan huh? ;-]
SPiderpig spiderpig does whatever a spiderpig can..
hmm as for the whole adkins and pelfrey. not sure if that is an option.
Condolences John. Props for trying! Sometimes dreams and realities just don´t jive…
Hopefully Pelfrey is being showcased tomorrow and will turn in the outing of his life before he’s traded for some needed bullpen help, a 2B like Brian Roberts or a corner OF like Eric Byrnes.
Its a shame too, because I think Heather Locklear Delcos has a nice ring to it.
John are you joking? You want Pelfrey in the rotation? I guess the 0-7 made you wanna see more of him.. yeah and his great secondary pitches leave nothing to be desired right? because they are so amazing.. yeah right..
I don’t understand why the Mets are going to give a free win away again by starting Pelfrey.. why not call up Humber who has 3 pitches? mets moves boggle my head sometimes
Steve C. – does whatever a spiderpig does*
I don’t understand what you mean, that would not be an option. Please expound.
Danny (RE: Pelfrey)
Please give me a break on the Pelfrey suggestion. I was so distraught over Heather that I wasn’t thinking straight.
To MetsGrrl …
Please send us a link to your site.
Don’t back down, John. I think Pelfrey should be in the rotation. He’s a good pitcher, and he has to learn. He hasn’t pitched well, but he’s been unlucky too. He is a better pitcher than Jorge Sosa could ever hope to be.

Alou is in the lineup tonite, batting 5th. Let’s hope:
A) that he can still hit.
B) that he is not sooooo brittle that he breaks in his first at bat.
C) remembers which locker is his.
Mets were on Letterman, who knew?
