We’re a week away from the trade deadline and “Pedro Martinez”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=4875 is in Florida and who knows where “Moises Alou’s”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=4517 shoulder is?
A case can be made for a starter and right-handed hitting bat in the outfield, a second baseman and a reliever. Who can’t see a playoff game turning in any one of these categories.
My first inclination is to assume the worst on Martinez, look ahead to next year with the possibilities of not having Tom Glavine and Orlando Hernandez a year older, and go for a pitcher. Then again, there’s not much out there. However, my optimism is higher with Martinez than it is Alou.
Tell me where they should shop and be sure to vote. Thanks.
