Moises Alou has a case of mild tendinitis in his right shoulder and irritation of the rotator cuff. They are now saying Thursday or Friday. Yeah, right …
Damion Easley was activated from the bereavement list and Chip Ambres was designated for assignment.

I don’t think gravity will allow that.-JD
Wow, here’s a man who’s milking his last contract for all its worth!
John,
I hope this helps Omar realize he can’t count on Alou as a regular and is only a complimentary player at this stage in his game. The team needs a right handed bat behind Delgado and that doesn’t mean Lo Duca. If this doen’t convince him to make a trade for a bat nothing will, there are plenty available there’s no way they will all cost too much..

To Ed: No, Lo Duca isn’t the answer. This is the opportunity Lastings Milledge is looking for. But, who is out there that you like?-JD
Leave Milledge man in the outfield. After the 2 days off he came back strong and despite his low average he already has had several very clutch hits. I like Easley as the main righty pinch hitter, and Anderson as the main lefty with some playing for each, spelling Milledge and Green. I’d still like to see AHERN get some time especially with pitchers like Glavine because he has great range in the field.
Stick a fork in him. He’s done.
Next! our future is Endy and Lastings.
I say that you gotta stick with the outfield plan of…
Milledge Beltran and… Green/Anderson splitting time until and if Alou comes back.
And if Alou comes back strong?
Honestly, give Milledge the shot, why not?
Milledge Beltran and Alou with Green spelling Alou occasionally.
Green ain’t coming back next year, his defense is getting worse and he’s basically looking like a .250 singles hitter out there right now.
And if Anderson comes back next year, he’s coming back as a bench bat.
Roll with the new at least for a little while.
Guys,
If you look at the roster we have 3 guys listed as OF. 3. I know we have others who can fill in a game here or there.
Let me pose this. Let us say Beltran/Green/Milledge sprain an ankle ( one or two of them ) and is out for a couple of days.
How do you feel now? Alou is not here. He has been out for almost 2 months and he has a bum shoulder?
We have nothing in the minors unless you wanna bring an 18yr old up to Shea. Hopefully Omar can find someone to send us someone without giving up much.
One name I saw was ex-Met Jay Payton. He is a right handed bat which we need and Omar seems to have a relationship with Baltimore.
I would prefer not to get a name OF unless it is a big name, but I think we need someone who knows his way around an OF who can platoon with what we have and won’t embarrass us in the field. I do not know if Jay can still play, but I think we need someone and cannot rely on 3 OF to take us through the 2nd half of the season.
