In Greece, in the island of Crete, at a tiny airport in the town of Chania. I met 2 people wearing mets hats and tshirts, they were there on their honeymoon. I of course, had also been sporting my mets gear throughout europe.

I saw a Mets t-shirt in krakow, poland when i was there for my sister’s graduation from medical school, I of course had to say hello, but it was just an american tourist. What I found funny was that a bunch of european teenagers wear Yankee caps, but not for the Yankees, they wear it just because it says NY on it.
It doesn’t beat Poland, but I did see a Mets jersey (the black road one) at a strip club in Canada.

Dan—Any chance that was Doug Sisk wearing that black jersey?

Oddest place is I guess anywhere I have been. We were in St Maarten in Feb and I had my hat on, sat down, and was immediately approached by a couple from Astoria. Met fans of course. We debated the upcoming season over many pina coladas!

While I was backpacking in Europe I saw one guy with a Mets shirt and one with a Mets hat, both of them in Florence, Italy, both of those guys were Americans though.
And in France I saw a guy with a Yankee hat on, he was actually French, not an American. This was while we were going through the “ghetto” in the city of Strasbourg.
Benny – at first I thought it was Arod in disguise, he’s got a reputation up there (though I was probably a good hour from Toronto). But it was just some random guy in a Mets jersey.
