ANALYSIS
Pretty simple. Tom Glavine didn’t have it tonight and has to wait for No. 299. His next start will be Wednesday at Shea. The offense scored a season-high 13 runs. Maybe, just maybe … nah. We’ve been teased enough this year. Let them do this for a week.
NOTEBOOK
-GM Omar Minaya said Moises Alou could be activated next week. He played six innings in left field.
-A throwing error by David Wright tonight. He has 11 errors (both fielding and throwing) to lead the team.
-Aaron Sele is now 3-0. He gave up one run in three innings.
LOOKING AHEAD
Oliver Perez (8-6, 3.13) will make his 17th start of the season and ninth of his career tonight against the Dodgers. Perez is 3-4 with a 4.48 ERA lifetime against Los Angeles. It will be his second start since coming off the disabled list with a sore back.

I didn’t stay up for the whole thing (had to get my beauty rest after the fourth inning), but I really liked how Willie managed last night. I liked his hit-and-run with Reyes on first and Marlon at bat in the first; I liked the double steal with Reyes and Marlon when Wright was up in the first; I liked Gotay hitting on 3-0 in the first; and I liked that he pulled Glavine before allowing him to surrender the lead. In the immortal words of Chris Russo, “Good job, Willie.”
I guess David won’t win any gold gloves.
On the bright side the HoJo mojo has started.
David Wright is actually among the top 3B in the league according to several different defensive metrics. His range is well above average. Let’s say he has a gold glove, but a lead arm.
