Yup, this is probably one of the ugliest of the season. Here’s Guillermo Mota’s line: six runs on six hits in two-thirds of an inning. Two homers.

I think Mota is an excellent example of how steroids enhance performance. Unfortunately, Omar didn’t believe in the power of steroids before giving Mota a 2-year contract. I hope he’s a believer now. Let this be the last time he signs a known juicer.
I think that Randolph had too few bullpen options tonight as they were stretched the last few games. They should have optioned Vargas and called up bullpen help instead of Alomar. The bullpen was exhausted and they took a risk it wouldn’t be needed much tonight. They’re paying the price for that gamble.
It started raining before the end of the game.
