So I’m thinking the Mets should release Jose Valentin this way there is no possible way he can get to 400 AB and we have to deal with him for 1 more year.. The only way he should be able to stay is if he agree’s to play all the positions on the field and is ok with 1 start a week.
Ruben Gotay should be at second.. to long we have been looking for these quick fixes, we could actually have a long term guy here in Gotay but if we’re giving 49 year olds starts instead of him we’ll never know and could cost the mets extra money not needed to be spent in the off-season.
Jon tell me why a rookie who has trouble with the breaking balls is batting 8th when a backup catcher is in the game.. Why not bat Gomez 7th so he can get more fastballs to hit..
John Maine is the all-star snub here.. How does Cole Hamels make it over him when Maine has less losses more wins? and a better ERA.. not to mention that Maine beat hamels both times they met this year.. a Joke i thought this is why the fans werent sopposed to vote.. to get the pitcher most deserving in the game.. and then maine doesnt even get his name on the second chance ballot.. all of a sudden playing in new york gets your underrated?
Nice lineup. To Sal, if a guy can’t hit a curve ball don’t you think the scouting report so states and the pitcher will throw them regardless of where a guy is. I like Gotay playing but to see what he is made of and what he can do. It is not a given that he’s an everyday player. Anyway, I think a bigger problem is in the otfield where Gomez isn’t quite ready and Green is worn out and playing like it because there’s nobody to spell him. Its actually pretty amazing we’re in 1st place with all the problems we have this year.
Glad to see Gotay playing. I hope he has a good game and maybe shows Randolph that he belongs as the Mets every day 2B. Delgado still hitting 5th. Maybe Randolph watches a different team than the rest of us. Yesterday, with men on base, Delgado came up and made an out each time.
I am so disappointed in Randolph and regardless of what the Mets do, am now becoming convinced that he’s not managerial material.
