Seeing Delgado at 5th just reminds me of what an awful year he is having. I was reminded of an interview of Greg Gross that I just read. He is a hitting coach in the minor leagues for some major league team (Phillies, just re-read the interview http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=6382). He was saying that too much emphasis is placed on mechanics of the swing. Everyone has a good enough swing at that level. Its mostly about being comfortable and not trying to do too much. That also made me think of Delgado. I think his bat has slowed down just a little bit and he is overcompensating, over-worrying and overthinking.
