Hi John – Keep your fingers crossed for me that ESPN2 doesn’t decide to black out the game here in CT tonight. I really enjoy watching Reyes and Carlos play the game. What do you think will happen with Carlos when some of the others return? Is there a place for him on the roster or will he have to go back to AAA?
Can someone explain to me what/who ‘The Ghost of Juan Samuel’ (as listed in the Mets Poll) is? My knowledge of baseball esoterica is limited.
I will keep looking at the daily updates, but I don’t see M. Buehrle and J. Dye in the line-up for the Mets yet (lol)...okay I’ll settle for C. Zambrano and oick another quality left fielder. When Alou and Endy return they would give us two solid bats off the bench ala R. Staub or E. Kranepool.
PS: The Ghost of Juan Samuel probably has a lot to do with the horrible trade which sent a solid Center Fielder in Len Dykstra and a solid set-up man in Roger McDowell to the Phillies for a bad half season rental in 1989.
Samuel was kinda like Soriano. But when we got him we took a former big bat/no glove 2nd baseman put him in CF and he sucked big time.
