Changes in the Mets’ batting order for tonight. The Carlos Beltran experiment lasted two games. He’s back hitting third and Paul Lo Duca is back in the two hole where he has been most of the season.

Can any one tell me why Willie keeps hitting the slump players (Beltran/Delgado) in key position to bat?
Unless they do wake up it just does not make sense to keep going on that way.
um, delgado is batting 5th, A LOT better than the 4th he’s been hitting all year, slight move, but lets take what we can get, Willie isn’t one to completely shake things up

I mean, I’m no expert, but I am pretty sure that 0% odds are bad.
that 3-4-5 is a great way to get Wright into a slump too.
I’ve been posting lineup’s all over the place, but I would have Beltran hitting 2nd, that way there are two spots between him and Delgado, and Beltran can do more little things while his legs arent 100%.
I guess the question becomes: How long can the team keep throwing Delgado out there when Beltran isnt hitting either? I guess with the 1B options being Franco, Green, Ledee, Valentin, and LoDuca(Castro at C) the idea is more to sit Delgado than play someone else.
I appreciate them playing Gotay though, thats a plus.
