With their outfield ravaged, the Mets recalled Ricky Ledee (like a bad penny he keeps popping up) and optioned Dave Newhan to 3-A New Orleans. Ledee is in today’s line-up in left batting ninth.

-Paul Lo Duca is the DH and Ramon Castro behind the plate. Willie Randolph said he “goes by feel,’’ as to who will be his DH.
-No progress with Moises Alou. He could go down to Port St. Lucie.
-Shawn Green ran the bases and took batting practice. He’s still on for Sunday.
-Everybody should be available tonight out of the bullpen.

how in the world does Newhan have options left? He’s been back and forth to the minors for the last 7 years…
Ledee would make 41 on the 40 man, do you know the complete roster move made today?

Boys & Girls Clubs boot A-Rod
Alex Rodriguez’s off-the-field antics are causing him problems, and we’re not talking about those silly Sox fans wearing blond babe masks. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America has pulled a TV spot featuring A-Rod because of concerns about the ballplayer’s behavior. “We are deeply concerned about the continuation of ads that might send the wrong messages to our children,” the BGCA said in a statement yesterday. The very-married Yankees star has been publicly skewered since he was snapped in the company of a buxom blond stripper while in Toronto.
