ANALYSIS
Tom Glavine said it best: “These things happen.’’ Glavine is winless in his last three starts, all of them quality and winnable. The Mets have given him three runs in those three games.
NOTEBOOK
-Carlos Beltran took an 0-for-5 in his first game back.
-Jose Reyes on the play where he was picked off in the seventh. “What happened? I got picked off.’’ That’s it, no making excuses. Tell it like it is. That’s why this guy is great.
-Jose Valentin went 1-for-3 with a homer and played six innings in the field in an extended spring game at Port St. Lucie, Fla.
-The Mets are now 3-1 in extra innings.
-Tonight was Glavine’s 62nd of his career against Philly.
-The Mets were 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

3-for-13 ugh… that says everything.
John,
Why is it every time the Mets head into a series looking to “send a message,” they get their hats handed to them? We’ve seen it three times now with the Braves, and now it’s looking like this series with the Phillies will turn out the same way (considering who’s pitching tomorrow afternoon).
yeah and the next game they spank em. so lets just see what happens tonight..
