A little slow tonight. Sorry. Carlos Beltran is back in the lineup after not having played since last Thursday.
“I feel better, but I am still not 100 percent,” Beltran said. “I’m good enough to play.”
-The Mets aren’t saying if Shawn Green will come off the disabled list when he is eligible Sunday when the team is in Detroit. He has a fracture of the metatarsal bone in his right foot and so far the most he has been able to do is lift weights, ride an exercise bike and play catch. “I can walk around without any issues,” Green said. “But I haven’t done any running.”
-It’s an interesting idea, activating Moises Alou for the Detroit series because of the designated hitter. “I don’t know what to tell you about that,” Alou said. “I’m not in good baseball shape.” When asked to guess, Alou said: “To tell you the truth, I don’t have any idea.”
-The news is much better on Jose Valentin. We might see him first.
