That groove Oliver Perez was in … well, it’s gone. One of the great mysteries of pitching is how a guy can loose it so quickly. No hit stuff through three; his command is now off. And, the Mets aren’t doing anything at the plate, either.
Well he wasn’t great, but this looks to be another quality start that ends up being a loss for one of our starters.
Can’t go forever with the big bats out and still win. Beltran back Tues will help, but I wish Lastings hasn’t gotten hurt, he would be a better stop-gap until Alou and Green get back.
To BH (RE: Perez)
Two innings did in Perez today. But, it was good enough to win most starts. The Mets have given he six runs a game in his victories.
From the 4th on he let the first batter get on, not a good sign.
As you said he lost his control.
Hopefully the guru can get him back on track.
i was watching and definitely something was off with his location. it also didnt help that he didnt get half the called strikes the Dbacks got.
