The Mets hope Moises Alou can be activated from the disabled list this weekend, but manager Willie Randolph said it might not be until next week when they play Philadelphia.
“We’re not going to rush him,’’ Randolph said. “He has to come to me and tell me he’s ready.’’
Here’s what else is going on:
-Jose Valentin continues to make progress in the rehabilitation of his injured knee.
-John Maine (6-2, 2.79) will make his 11th start of the season tonight and the second of his career against Arizona.
-Third baseman David Wright, shortstop Jose Reyes, catcher Paul Lo Duca and center fielder Carlos Beltran are the leaders at their positions in the early returns of the All-Star balloting.
