Carlos Beltran left tonight’s game in the second inning with a bruised right knee sustained when he collided with Giants first baseman Rich Aurilia while beating out an infield single in the first.
He was replaced by Carlos Gomez and is listed day-to-day.

Thanks for all the great work John! Hope you don’t mind a slightly off-topic question, but I was wondering if you knew anything about the status of Michel Abreu? I haven’t heard anything about him since the start of the season. Is he gone, or screwed for a long time with the VISA issue?
Also, it looks like the Mets won’t be signing Jeremy Barfield. Maybe throwing your dad down the stairs sends up a big red flag?

Yeah, tossing dad down the stairs would send a bad message. As far as I know Abreu still has the visa issue. Messing around with your age isn’t such a red hot idea.
