It looks like Carlos Delgado is feeling it now. Two drives tonight. Both ripped. He’s always said home runs come in bunches for him. I’ve always liked Delgado.
When I covered the Yankees he was very helpful in a piece I did about David Cone. I always made a point of stopping by the Toronto clubhouse after that to say hello. One of the nicest and grounded eyes on the team.
No airs about him.

#2 was a bomb! Hope this continues.
I agree completely – class act all the way. And it is GREAT to see him back. Noticed he was writing in his notebook yesterday and I hadnt seen that in a while – has he been doing that this year?
Hey John!
Question…do players in the clubhouse comment on players from other teams? More specifically, when you get a guy like Miguel Cabrera flipping the bat and staring at his “home run” (it went foul). I personally think he should be plunked for that obnoxiousness, but how do the other players feel?
To JR (RE: talking about others)
They sure do talk about players on other teams. Most of the times they are diplomatic and when they want to rip they’ll do it off the record. They are usually careful, but every once in awhile they’ll bare their claws.
As far as plunking him, not tonight. After Paul Lo Duca was hit following Carlos Delgado’s first homer both umpires were warned.
LoDuca looks hurt pretty bad. What’s the story?
