“(When I come back) I have no doubt in my mind I’ll be throwing in the mid-90s again with the way I feel now.’’—Pedro Martinez on his rehab.
As you have said before it is all talk.
Let’s see where he is in a month or so.
Yes, it’s all talk, but it’s the stuff of dreams. Imagine Pedro coming
back that strong. Imagine we make a mid-season trade for ??? Willis? Oswalt??
Imagine the rotation…... Pedro, Glavine, Oswalt, Perez, Maine/El Duque. . .
With Sanchez and Mota in the bullpen doing well. If all goes right, there’s a great
staff in our future!
From Pedro´s mouth to God´s ear…Imagine other teams gearing up for getting the recent Pedro, and instead getting the late 90´s version—devastating!
Kevin—Oswalt?? Not bad, but how about Johan Santana?! ;-}
we tried oswalt last year, didnt happen. but its a nice thought. i would rather have willis, but john has been shooting that down everytime i bring it up.
and even without those guys you mentioned we have a good bullpen now.
Who wouldn’t want Oswalt or Willis?
As far as Willis goes, here’s why I can’t see it:
1) The Marlins don’t have to pay the insane bucks yet, so they are in no hurry.
2) The Marlins aren’t a terrible team. Really, they aren’t. There’s a good core here. A wild card isn’t unreasonable to imagine, especially in the NL.
3) Even if they want to deal, they won’t give away their stud to a division opponent.
