In 1981, it was called one of the greatest college pitching duel ever: Yale’s Ron Darling and St. John’s Frank Viola traded zeroes through 11 innings. Darling didn’t allow a hit and struck out 16. St. John’s won, 1-0, when Steve Scafa stole home in the 12th inning.
