The field is covered, but it has stopped raining. BP was in the cages underneath the stands. We have national TV and the late start tonight.
Mets in good spirits, and yes, they are thinking sweep. “We certainly weren’t at the start of the series, but we are now,’’ Tom Glavine said.
“You want to be able to finish them off,’’ manager Willie Randolph said.
There was some talk in the clubhouse about the Atlanta series, that it coming on the heels of the Yankees was good. Less chance for a letdown because the emotional intensity will still be high.
There’s a lot to that. Let’s face it, if Pittsburgh or Cincinnati were next some of the edge might be dulled.

Hi John –
Was there any discussion in the clubhouse about Willie giving the Fordham commencement address? I saw some note of it in the papers this morning, but nothing about his teams’ reaction.
It’s a great story. (CSPAN usually does a couple of evenings of televising these speeches, so I hope to catch it there and maybe Bernie’s speech at Iona as well).
Glavine said: ``Yes, we were aware of it. He was talking about it for days.”
