You have to like David Wright. He’s always so positive, even when things were horrible for him in April. He never complained, never whined. You knew he would turn it around, but more importantly, he knew it, too.
He hit two yesterday, giving him six on the season after a homerless April.
“I’m just feeling comfortable at the plate,” Wright said. “You have to have confidence that you expect to go up there and get a hit … and that is slowly coming back to me.”
Wright said he’s staying back, which makes his swing short and more compact. He said he’s trusting himself. Three intentional walks later in another sign he’s coming back.
