In 1984, umpire Joe West ejected two TV cameramen—Al Friedman and Doug Zimmer—from Shea Stadium when they allowed the Mets to show a replay of a controversial play in which Hubie Brooks was called out at the plate.
Hey, I was at that game! We had no idea about the ejections until we read the paper the next day. Even with the Mets hot start in ‘84 it was still possible to get good seats until mid-summer.
