Damn if Damion Easley didn’t do it again. For the third time in less than two weeks Easley pulled the Mets’ bacon out of the fire with a late homer.
On April 24, his homer in the 10th kept alive a game against Colorado. He homered to beat Washington last weekend. Then last night.
Jose Valentin took Kaz Matsui’s job last year when the latter was injured. With Valentin to be out for over a month, don’t bet against Easley doing the same.

Omar apparently did it again. Great find….I never thought we’d see this type of impact from Easley.
Man did the DBacks closer wilt when things got bad. After that walk to LoDuca he looked about as lost as Perez did during that 7 walk fiasco.
with alou out that should bring up milledge and we should see more lastings and endy in the field. I want to see if milledge truly has matured. As i said i am willing ti ammend my dislike he did start to show promise. And I am one for giving someone a fair chance :-(
except TRASH-el. :-p
Milledge is injured and out for the next few weeks, unfortunately. He will not be available for a callup anytime soon.
Sounds like Alou can play with this, although he might get a day off.
If anyone comes up it will be Carlos Gomez.
still injured? ugh..
as i stated in an earlier blog: alou and Green bother me with their defense.
if they dont get an early jump on the ball they look and wait for the bounce. not something you want in an outfielder.
Both Milledge and Ben Johnson are on the DL, so if they need a call-up and don´t want to rush Gomez we might see Chip Ambres.
wait a minute:

actually I think he beat out that grounder in washington, before franco tied it. but in any case, he’s got some nice pop.
plus it’s just nice that he’s helping the mets win games they’re supposed to lose at a time when the offense is clearly not clicking. when this team starts to get in sync, watch out.
he did. they showed it on replay. thats why willie got the boot.
if thats the play i am recalling.. ;-]
Um, Milledge is in the minors, so he wouldn’t be on the major league list.
Here’s some info for you from RotoWorld (which is a great site and will help you stay current on these things)

I was thinking that too. but his names is listed and not on active roster as well as pedro. so i figured they would still list his health.
Nope. You can probably check if the Zephyrs have a list like that too on their website. He’s just like any other minor leaguer now!
oh well. if it was last year i wouldnt have minded. but after spring i was just being turned around. maybe this is good for him. not the injury but the ML status.
Milledge is on the minor league disabled list.
The difference at 2nd last yr vs this is that Matsui was a bust. A big signing that didnt work. He was a pole in the infield and they pushed reyes for him!
valentine is a good defensive player and more than adaquate at the plate. I don’t think he will lose his job but you never know.
