A moment of silence please for “Chan Ho Park,”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5187 who was designated for assignment. Assistant GM John Ricco said the team hopes Park will accept an assignment to to the minors. Taking his place is reliever Lino Urdaneta from New Orleans, who went 1-0 with a 5.84 ERA in 10 games.
Park had a 7.29 ERA in four starts with the Zephyrs and in Monday’s start against Florida gave up seven runs in four innings.
Park was in line to start Saturday, but that’s open for now. Aaron Sele could be considered, as is Jorge Sosa.

I thought that was rather quick to send Park back down. They would not even give him one more chance to start on Saturday and see if Peterson can get him on track. I guess the Mets have little patience with him?
To Bryan (RE: Park)
Fact is he wasn’t pitching well in the minors and only got the start because it was his turn. He still has some work to do before he’s got it together again, and it might never happen.
If Park does not accept the assignment to the minors, does he become a free agent? I would hate for another team to pick him up, show more patience, and then he produces. I guess I feel like he can turn it around as long as he stays healthy and stays focused.
Lino, baby. Let me be the first to say, “I told you so.”
