Slumping Carlos Delgado gets to clear his head on the bench today. He’ll be replaced by Julio Franco at first base.
“Every once in a while less is more,’’ said Delgado, explaining a rest might be better than extra batting practice.
Delgado said he’s rushing at the plate and consequently opening his lead shoulder, which makes it difficult to drive the ball.
