Kevin Devaney is out at Shea tonight and tomorrow and will be updating on the Mets-Rockies series. Here’s an update from him:
Tonight’s lineup:
1. Reyes, SS
2. Lo Duca, C
3. Beltran, CF
4. Delgado, 1B
5. Wright, 3B
6. Alou, LF
7. Green, RF
8. Valentin, 2B
9. Maine, P
News: Not much to report, really. Carlos Beltran was named National League player of the week. His numbers were ridiculous, as were Jose Reyes’. Either could have won it. It’s a great sign for Beltran, who’s traditionally a slow starter. … Reliever Duaner Sanchez was in the locker room before the game. He’s out with a shoulder injury but swore he’d pitch again this season. There’s no timetable. … One week after 26-game hitting streak, David Wright is in a rut. I wouldn’t panic. Hitters go through these things. He said he feels fine and the Mets hardly seem concerned.
Check back throughout the game for updates.
Prediction: Maine throws that no-hitter and Mets win by 10.
