Obviously not a good start for Mike Pelfrey. He’s been up early and Chipper Jones took him out of the park. And, Andruw Jones just missed. The book on Pelfrey is he needs to establish his secondary pitches, and that comes from first locating his fastball, which he hasn’t so far.

He’s way too jacked, long layoff, big series, etc. Doesn’t bode well for someone who has sink on his fastball.
Terrible decision making him pitch the first game of this series, just terrible.

It’s one thing to believe the series is important, but it is another to overreact. If you don’t have confidence in Pelfrey in the first game, would it be any different for the rest of the series?
