Some clubhouse nuggets:
-John Maine said he wasn’t thinking about a no-hitter. “It’s something that’s next to possible,’’ he said. No Met has ever thrown a no-hitter.
-David Wright is so unimpressed with having the club’s hitting streak record of 25 games (12 last year and 13 this year). “It’s not something that when it’s done I’ll be disappointed,’’ he said. Fair enough now. I’ll bet he changes his mind if he gets to 40.
-Paul Lo Duca on his bruised thumb: “You saw some of the swings I took tonight.’’ True enough. Not pretty. Lo Duca said he expects to play tomorrow.
-The Mets’ 17 hits were a season high.
-The Mets are 8-0 when they score four runs or more.
