John Maine’s no-hit bid was broken up by Miguel Cabrera’s single to lead off the seventh inning. He’s been great … fast, efficient, ahead of the hitters all night. He has seven strikeouts to tie a career high.
Oh well…it was exciting for a little bit. I seriously think the Mets are just destined to never have a no-no pitched for them. :-(

On a side note too….at least it was a real hit and not some stupid fluke like we’ve seen in the past…i.e. David Cone against the Astros when he lost his bid on a weak infield single by a crappy hitter (I forget his name now).

didn’t see the game, but there is a nice article on him at the mets site. Peterson likes what he sees.
