Ryan—thanks for the restaurant tip. If anybody else out there has any suggestions on where to eat in Philly, send them along. I know about Pat’s. That’s a picture of artists at work.
Go to south street. There’s a good tai place and just up the street from it is a great little pub called 10 stone i believe.
oh steve’s cheese steaks are better. everyone goes to Pat’s. I just dont know where Steve’s is located, this one guy used to make the trip for us.
Steve’s is located on South Street, not far from Jim’s.
try Ralph’s, at South 9th St. and Fitzwater (two blocks below South St.). Really good Italian fare, and they absolutely load up your plate. Word of advice- they’re cash only.
No problem John!
My favorite cheesesteaks are actually from Tony Luke’s. You take Broad Street north from the stadiums until you get to Oregon Avenue, then you make a right and take it almost all the way down (it’s more of a drive than a walk). I recommend the steak italian – sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. Good stuff.
They have the stand at the ballpark as well, but it’s always so crowded I’ve never tried it (the Schmitter is an amazing sandwich anyway – field level, left field, and surprisingly not named after Mike Schmidt).
chicky and pete’s up a few blocks from the stadium – 10 foot tv’s and crab fries. be careful, too many crab fries could hang with you until the boys head back to Shea.
