There is one reason to run everything out: Because you never know.
Jose Reyes hits a harmless pop-up in the infield. He’s out, but Ryan Howard runs into his third baseman, Abraham Nunez. Howard clocks Nunez with his elbow and the ball falls to the ground. Reyes winds up on second and ends up scoring on a sac fly.
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a player jog down the line and doesn’t get the extra base because he doesn’t hustle.
We’re now in the sixth, Mets lead, 3-2. John Maine is down for the day, going 4 2/3 innings _ the shortest by a starter _ and giving up two runs on five hits and six walks.

Well there’s a classic Willie moment, leaving Burgos (28 pitches) in to face Howard.
To BH (RE: Burgos)
Yup … touched on that in a later post. If he was going to come out for the next inning, he’s got to go after the first base runner.
