Shawn Green said the sun had nothing to do with that dropped fly ball in the sixth. Just came from the clubhouse and he said he got a bad break on the ball and the wind carried it away from him as he tried to catch it.
“I spun around and as I tried to get my bearings the wind caught it and carried it away from me,’’ Green said. “It went off my glove. I thought I had it. I looked in it and it wasn’t there.’’
Green said he wanted an opportunity to make up for it when he came to bat in the ninth. Green turned on a Bob Wickman pitch and lined it toward right … only to have first baseman Craig Wilson rob him.
