If you saw the first inning, you saw why Glavine will win 300 games and go into the Hall of Fame.
He might coast the rest of the way and win or he might give it up and lose. But, the essence of what he is was the composure that got him out of the first inning.
He threw 30 pitches (which is what he’d want to throw in three innings) and got out of it with only one run against him. Unearned run at that.
