The first pitch of the season was ball one to Jose Reyes. Mets go in order.
Now, instead of watching commericials, I’d like to invite you to take a look at our “Baseball Preview Section”:http://lohud.com/mlbpreview at The Journal News.
The focus is on youth and among the Mets features is a profile on the friendship of David Wright and Reyes, plus one of Lastings Milledge and how he’s grown over the past year.
There’s also the Mets’ prospects to look for over the next few years.
Take a read and I hope you enjoy.

Do you really think Carlos Gomez is 2-3 years away? I would put it closer to 2-3 months, no?
To Benny (RE: Gomez)
No way in two, three months. Here’s how I see the Mets outfield next year: Alou (he has an option for next year, so the assumption has to be he’ll play well enough to get it picked up), Beltran and Milledge. They don’t want Gomez sitting around. So, in my mind, that puts him in at 2009 at the earliest.
You want to bet a cheesecake on this?
Thanks for the columns on the young guns..
You really think Andy Hernandez can fix his bat in a year or two?
