Mets in the Morning: Greetings from St. Pete
I used to love coming here. I spent a lot of time here covering the Orioles and then the Yankees. It’s not the same with the Mets. Just different, I guess.
Nobody was thrilled about coming here, then flying to St. Louis. Everybody would have rather gone ahead to St. Louis … work out there and watch the Final Four this afternoon. Right now Mets are taking BP.
Here’s what’s going on this morning:
-Mike Pelfrey starts today then goes back to PSL. He’ll pitch Florida State League game, April 7, and is scheduled to rejoin rotation, April 13.
-OF Ricky Ledee, remember him? Mets signed him to a minor league contract. He was released by Oakland, March 25.

What’s the point of that game today? I’m so excited about the season. Unfortunately I bought tickets for a concert months ago and its tomorrow night at 8pm. Oh well. That’s why DVR was invented. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.
To Taylor: (RE: Today’s game)
The point of today’s game was to make some money. Tomorrow was supposed to be an offday, so it wouldn’t have been a big deal. But, when ESPN wanted to televise Mets-Cards, that’s when things got sticky. Mets were obligated.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME WITH LEDEE!! HE IS HORRIBLE!! WHAT IS THE POINT!!?? I think I am going to throw up if he ever puts on a Mets uniform again…
