If 6-8, with not much pressure, come through and put up average numbers the Mets should clinch by late August. A healthy Alou and a rebound from Green makes this order tough. I'd prefer a platoon of Green/Milledge. It takes a little pressure off Green he can relax an maybe shoot some good numbers in 350 ab's or better, while Milledge gets experience, some good ML experience and not much pressure either. And I just don't see Valentin replicating his season last year, or anything close for that matter. How long do we give Green though? I hope he makes me eat crow but I'd much prefer Milledge. LoDuca was a great #2 hitter and Wright a terrific RBI guy. In my opinion it's more important to have the RBI and power guys like Wright in the middle of that line-up. You just can't let Wright forgo the RBI opportunities he will have in the 5th spot. There are bound to be more guys on base with him in the middle than in the #2 spot. I know the stat head guys disagree, but look at #3 through #6...that middle of the line-up is terrifying to any pitcher because of the depth and by far the best in the NL.
