You hit a ton this Spring John. The best of the blogs and I hope your overdue raise is coming real soon,YOU EARNED IT! Let’s tip our hat to Willie and Omar for seeing thru most of the oldsters and knowing that keeping Milledge was a credibility issue for them. Lasting’s earned his trip North. Joe Smith did as well. We can only hope that the Spring thaw will see Alou and Green come out of their hibernation. If not, we have kids that are just awaiting their chance. Ah, the beauty of baseball. How I love it so…

Ya gotta think that Burgos is the guy to go down when Pelf comes up, and I guess that another week with Peterson can’t hurt. Though to be honest, I just don’t think that the kid is a legit ML pitcher yet.

I’m very, very glad that this move didn’t cost us Park. I see him helping us in a pretty big way this year – although I know I’m in the minority there. Just remember the agony of watching the parade of terribles we trotted out at #5 at times last season. Park may not be all the way back, but he’s shown enough flashes this spring to indicate that he can still miss bats at the ML level.

I guess that hitting .368 and behaving like an adult is reason enough to take Milledge north, even though he won’t get to play every day. I also think that this makes Green’s leash even shorter.

Now that the team is leaving FL, can we get a little love for Pedro Feliciano? The guy has done nothing but get people out since the beginning of last season. And it doesn’t look like the league has figured him out yet.

I know that the team has looked pretty lethargic this spring, and to some extent, I think it’s been a hangover from a crushing playoff defeat. Here’s hoping that the sight of the Arches, and Spezio’s ridiculous facial hair, gets the juices flowing on Sunday, and the energy and intensity that this ballclub lived on last year suddenly make an appearance.

Don’t know what to say about Sanchez, but he is done for the year ( like Pedro ).

John,

I’ll agree with Dep on this one, your the first beat writer I hit everytime I come on. I hate the Park decision but I’am glad he’ll stick around. I’d love to have all those strikeouts, El Duque will need a blow soon and he’ll be back. If Burgos is back down in two weeks then I’d rather see a kid up and down then a veteran. Who knows if lastings keeps it up Green’s leash might be so short they’ll be another spot to fill.

Why do you think Park accepted the Minor league role? Was it him more wanting to start than relieving or did the mets really think Burgos is better in the pen?
