To Dave: (RE: Tech problems): Believe me, this is frustrating for everybody. Nobody is happy this is happening. From my end, there's times I don't know if what I post will get on. What's worse, is not being able to get your responses. That's the whole purpose of the blog in the first place. The fear is you'll give up. Please don't. We'll work this out.

To bcuster (RE: Kazmir): Matter of fact, I did talk with Kazmir this morning. No regrets on the deal. He said he wasn't ready at the time and knew Mets were shopping for a vet because they were contending at the time.

To TLC (RE: Ledee): No reason not to sign him. He doesn't cost them much and nobody knows how things will turn out. Why not stockpile reserves when you can?

John,

I am 44 years old and have been a Met's fan since the third grade, when I rebeled against my Yankee breathing-eating-sleeping family. I have seen the Mets do a lot of things, but this might have been the strangest. I have seen the Mets ruin too many careers rushing people up early (Generation K, Jay Payton etc). I have seen them trade away leaders (Seaver) and young guys (It still hurts). I was all for sending Milledge, Pelfrey and Burgos to AAA for one last season or even half a season and in order to get their innings and/or at bats. Anyway, I actually like how it ended up. The key was that Chan Ho Park did a stand up act and accepted a demotion to AAA. Most egostisical athletes would have whined, asked to be traded or asked for extra money. Park is staying as insurance and I am proud the Mets signed him. The way he pitched yesterday he could be a starter in almost any club. Go Mets! We are going all the way.

john, as long as you are in tampa, why don't you see if you can get kazmir to talk about the contract extension the d-rays are trying to get him to sign or if he has any regrets over 'the trade" in '04

Your tech guys know there is a problem, but I get the feeling it isnt the most important thing on their plate.
