The Mets’ roster became a lot clearer this afternoon as the following moves were made:
-Aaron Sele and reliever Joe Smith were added to the 25-man roster.
-Outfielder Ben Johnson and infielder Anderson Hernanez were optioned to Class AAA New Orleans.
-Infielders Mike Carp and Ruben Gotay and catchers Sandy Alomar, Mike DiFelice and reliever Lino Urdaneta were assigned to the minor league camp.
-Jorge Sosa was outrighted to Class AAA New Orleans, which means he’s off the 40-man roster.

thanks for the info, this means lasto is probably going to make the team right?
Sosa was put on the 40 man roster and Jesus Flores was not protected. Omar may be good at evaluating talent but this has to be considered an organizational blunder. Especially as thin as teh Mets farm system is on catching prospects that are potential full time players and within a few years of the Major League. Maybe the National can claim Sosa and he can pitch to Flores.
anthony, Sosa was later removed. Schmoll and Gotay were also removed after Flores was lost. So was Soler. losing Flores was a complete bungle on Omar’s part. Making it even more puzzling is that Ramon Castro is a free agent after the year, and Flores would have been the natural replacement.
No biggie.
It means Amby learns in the majors..
