Mets in the Morning

Here’s what’s going on so far:
-Proud papa Carlos Delgado is back. So is Jose Valentin. I’ll be watching Delgado in a minor league game.
-John Maine goes against the Dodgers this afternoon. Lino Urdaneta is also scheduled. Bullpen coach Guy Conti likes him and said he could be a factor next year if not later this summer.
-Actually Maine will pitch vs. Dodgers minor leaguers. The team is already back in LA for a series against the Angels. Wonder how all those people in Vero Beach are going to feel when nobody they recognize takes the field.
-Lastings Milledge’s hand is still sore, but will try to take BP at Vero.

Hey John,
It would be great if you could get us some comments on Marty Noble’s article on mlb.com where he quoted an unnamed Mets player as saying, “It just doesn’t feel the same as it did last year…Last year, we were primed. I don’t feel it now.”
Speaking for myself, I’m less concerned about who said it than I am about other players reaction to this sentiment.
