Delgado update

March
29

Carlos Delgado went 1-for-5 in a minor league intra-squad game. He lead off each inning and doubled to left-center; struck out swinging; popped out to first; grounded out to first; and popped out to third.

“It helped you don’t have to play 12 innings to get five at-bats. It was definitely worth it,’’ Delgado said. “I felt I took some good swings. It was nice to see some breaking stuff.

“I wasn’t preparing to go 5-for-5 although I would have liked it. I’ll get some at-bats tomorrow, get some at-bats Saturday and be ready to roll on Sunday.’’

On his first-inning double, Delgado said: “I felt good. I put myself in a good hitting count, 3-1. I got a good pitch to hit.’’
